Finding New Friends with Boston Cares’ Learn & Serve Program
At first my mom had signed me up for Learn and Serve, but I ended up really enjoying it and meeting new people, so I stuck with it and have had some amazing experiences!
Getting to see how big of an impact we really have, and how much we help. Sometimes I feel like I haven’t done much to help but they always really appreciate it and make such a big difference.
First, it is so much fun because you get to meet some new people, have a really good time hanging out, and help some really great organizations. Second, if you don’t like service you get free lunch so that is a real plus. Thirdly, you get a really great experience for the future and something that is really good on a college application.
When we went to Community Servings, and the two people running it were having such a good time and joking around with us, and it showed that these people really loved what they were doing, and wanted us to love it too. Also, the cheesecake we got was amazing.
