Meet Our Team: Welcoming a New Member to Boston Cares

Headshot of Cayley Hayes

We’re excited to start our staff blog series by introducing one of the newest members of the Boston Cares team! As we highlight the people who make our work possible, we’re especially thrilled to welcome new staff who are just beginning their journey with us.

In this post, we’re getting to know our newest team member, Cayley Hayes, and learning about what brought them to Boston Cares, what they’ve discovered so far, and what inspires them as they step into their role.

Can you tell us about your role and what brought you to Boston Cares?

I just finished my undergraduate degree back in May and recently moved to Boston. I have always been passionate about volunteerism and non-profit work and organizations. This opportunity presented itself, and it seemed like a good fit for me! In my role, I work mostly with our volunteers and community partners in the Greater Boston area to fulfill the needs of our community.

In your first few weeks, what is one interesting thing you’ve learned?

I have learned that Boston Cares is the largest volunteer agency in New England.

What are you more excited for in your new role?

In my role, I am very excited to work alongside our community partners and volunteers. I am eager to get to know the organizations we are serving and those who are constantly donating their time and efforts to these amazing causes.

What keeps you motivated, even on challenging days?

My motivation comes from the Boston community as a whole. Even on hard days, I am reminded that the work we are doing is making a difference, even if I cannot see it directly. Knowing that there are people out there who are volunteering their time and energy, by giving back to their community is a big motivator. Being able to work with community partners at various organizations and hear their testimonies is inspiring and keeps me going.
