Boston Cares Volunteers at the final performance of the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s King Lear on August 9th, 2015.

This summer, 64 Boston Cares Calendar volunteers filled 98 volunteer shifts and delivered a total of 560 service hours to the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s production of King Lear at 15 performances on the Boston Common between July 23-August 9. CSC’s “Free Shakespeare on the Common” series is now in its 20th year. Boston Cares volunteers helped pass out programs, collected e-mail addresses/survey information, and lent a hand with general front of house operations. This project supports our impact area of preserving cultural and environmental vibrancy in our communities.

Pictured here are the volunteers at the final performance with CSC volunteer coordinator Evan Turissini. Many thanks to Volunteer Leaders Bob Geller and Nopporn Thangthaeng for their dedication to this project.
