The Watertown Police Supervisor’s Association is putting on a 5K fundraising run/walk “Finish Strong” on Saturday, April 19. They are looking for volunteers to help out from 8am – 3pm, as well as runners and walkers. The race runs from 10-noon.
The 5K will commemorate the one year anniversary of the events that led to the capture of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects by inviting the community to fill the streets of Watertown in a celebratory 5k road race. Proceeds to benefit the WPSA, local charity & victim funds, One Fund, and the Watertown Police Foundation–the new foundation to support youth community programming and school safety initiatives. Volunteers will be asked to help with any & all aspects of event management, from helping to greet & register runners, provide directions for community members & guests as they arrive on site, staff water stations along the course, deliver/set-up/clean-up needed supplies, etc. Learn more at www.watertownstrong.racewire.com. Open to children. Accessible by public transport. Complimentary parking is available.
Way to go, Watertown!
