It’s been a long winter here in Boston, but over the weekend the last of the snow melted away and thoughts turned to Spring, and flowers. Daffodils in particular. Last Fall in response to the bombings, a volunteer-led coalition of garden clubs and other horticultural organizations organized a group called Marathon Daffodils. Their volunteers planted daffodil bulbs all along the Marathon route to inspire runners, residents, participants and visitors. The flowers should come up in time for the 2014 race on April 21.
Join Boston Cares volunteers to hand out daffodils through Marathon Daffodils on Friday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. around the Marathon finish line area. Because nothing cheers like flowers in the Springtime!
