4/19: All Boston Cares Volunteer Opportunities Canceled for Today

Due to the current manhunt, all Boston Cares AM Volunteer Opportunities for Friday, April 19th are canceled. We will be in touch as the day goes on regarding projects for the afternoon and evening as well as tomorrow.

Incident Updates (Last Updated 4/19 6:50AM)
MBTA: Service (including bus, train, and commuter rail) is suspended until further notice. See http://www.mbta.com for updates. If you are at an MBTA station – please do not congregate there, return home.
Residents in Watertown, Newton, Belmont, Allston-Brighton, and Cambridge: Stay home, shelter in place. Armed suspect still at large, police in active pursuit. Please be patient. Avoid congregating in large crowds until suspect is apprehended. We will continue to update the public with more information as it becomes available.
Emergency Notifications: Sign up for ALERTBoston, the city’s emergency notification system.
Boston Public Schools: All activities, including Acceleration Academies, are cancelled. School bus service has already been suspended. BPS administrative offices will be open today but we recognize some employees will be delayed coming to work.
City of Boston Employees: Essential employees should report to work as scheduled. Non-essential employees will have a delayed start time (to be determined, will be posted as soon as it is determined). All employees – regardless of essential or non-essential status – who live in the Allston Brighton neighborhood, should remain in their homes until public safety officials advise otherwise.
